Friday Photo: Pure Emotion

Friday Photo: Pure Emotion

Sometimes this job is easy.  Last week’s Friday Photo was all about hunting down that fleeting moment, being alert and receptive to the subtle energies of the street.  How if the world doesn’t align in your favour for that brief split second you don’t have an image.  Well this is also a moment, but in this instance all I had to do was hold my camera up and point it at Gemma.  And it’s no less important for that.  The moment is no less real or genuine or sincere.  It’s just that I didn’t have to work very hard to get it.  It’s all about the pure nervous excitement, the pent up happy fear before heading off to the wedding.  An amazingly styled bride in her amazingly styled bedroom who got into her dress about three and a half minutes ago and all things are going on inside her all at once.  Sometimes people who pay such close attention to style can be a little rigid and a little fixated on the trappings of style, but Gemma wore the whole thing easily and beautifully, with a wonderful carefree sense of fun and panache.  For the record, the groom, Lewis, was in an electric blue suit and will feature in next week’s Friday Photo…
